5.68% 13-Month CD at American Metro Bank
American Metro Bank is offering a very nice 5.68% APY CD for 13 months — the highest unrestricted CD rate that any local bank is offering for a year or more. Other than a $10,000 minimum to open the CD and the requirement that the money is new to the bank, there don’t seem to be any catches to this great rate. Unless the bank closes this deal early, it looks like you have some time to decide if you want participate, since the rate is scheduled to continue through the end of August.
American Metro Bank has four branches, including three in Chicago: the Main Bank at 4878 N. Broadway Ave., the Chinatown Branch at 2144A S. Archer Ave., and the Fullerton Branch at 4903 W. Fullerton Ave. The fourth branch is at 667 N. Cass Ave. in Westmont.
