American Metro Bank has a decent 18-month CD available right now: 4.25% APY. This CD requires a $10,000 deposit to open, and the funds to open the CD must be new money to the bank. This offer is expected to last through the end of September. American Metro Bank also has a 6-month CD yielding 3.50% APY that has the same restrictions and expected end date.

Unfortunately, to receive that rate you must “open a non-interest bearing checking account with a minimum of one direct deposit transaction and three additional transactions per month.” The rate is scheduled to continue through at least the end of the month.

5.68% 13-Month CD at American Metro Bank
American Metro Bank is offering a very nice 5.68% APY CD for 13 months — the highest unrestricted CD rate that any local bank is offering for a year or more. Other than a $10,000 minimum to open the CD and the requirement that the money is new to the bank, there don’t seem to be any catches to this great rate. Unless the bank closes this deal early, it looks like you have some time to decide if you want participate, since the rate is scheduled to continue through the end of August.
