3-year, 2.02% CD at Liberty Bank
Liberty Bank has a decent mid-term CD available: a 3-year CD yielding 2.02% APY. This CD has a minimum deposit of $1000, and the same rate is available in a 4-year or 5-year CD. Liberty Bank also has a couple somewhat-competitive shorter CDs available: a 1-year CD at 1.00% APY, and a 2-year CD at 1.26% APY. Those CDs have the same $1000 minimum.
Liberty Bank has five locations: Three in Chicago, one in Lincolnwood, and one in Park Ridge.
5% 5-year CD at Liberty Bank
Liberty Bank for Savings has a competitive long-term CD available for those worried about the banking volatility we’re seeing right now: Their 5-year CD is yielding 5.00% APY. This CD has a minimum of $2500. Liberty Bank also has a 42-month CD that’s yielding 4.50% APY and a 3-year “bump-up” CD (where you can adjust the rate once during the term, up to 2% higher) that’s yielding 3.90% APY. The rates for IRA CDs are lower.

4.25% 5-year CD at Liberty Bank for Savings
Liberty Bank for Savings has a pretty good 5-year CD available: 4.25% APY. This CD requires a minimum of $2500 to open. Unfortunately, the APY goes down a full percent if the CD is opened as an IRA CD.

4.00% 5-year CD at Liberty Bank
Liberty Bank has a pretty good long-term CD: a 5-year CD earning 4.00% APY. The CD has a minimum of $2500. The CD is not available as an IRA CD at that APY — for some reason Liberty’s 5-year IRA CD is only earning 3.25% APY.

$110 bonus with opening a checking account at Liberty Bank
Liberty Bank has a very nice checking account bonus deal: Open a FREEdomChecking account with them, and receive a $110 bonus. (The $110 is because they’re celebrating their 110th anniversary.) The minimum balance to open the account is $50, but you don’t have to maintain a minimum balance in the account to avoid fees. Also, the account only requires one direct deposit to receive the entire bonus — most other recent deals of this ilk have required 4 to 6. The offer is good through the end of June.
