For our neighbors to the north: West Bend Savings Bank in West Bend, Wisconsin is offering an amazing 6.01% APY checking account. As I’m sure you’ve already guessed, there are a few catches: To get the rate, you have to do complete 10 or more signature-based debit-card purchases per month, have direct deposit on the account, and receive your checking statements electronically rather than on paper. And the rate is only available on balances less than $50,000. Still, for people in Wisconsin looking to earn a fantastic checking rate, those requirements may very well be worth it.
West Bend Savings Bank has 20 locations in four counties north of Milwaukee: Dodge County, Ozaukee County, Sheboygan County, and Washington County.
